As I crossed the minutes from 2013 to 2014 I thought to myself this does not feel any different!
But then I realised the beginning of a new calender year had nothing to do with my feelings rather had everything to do with my knowledge and understanding of the significance of what just transpired.
The big question was 'Am I going to treat these few minutes just like every other time I moved from one day to another,or am I going to grasp the importance of the gift that had just been handed over to me?'
2013 was a full year for me. A year I experienced almost all emotions possible to a person. There was a lot of sieving and growing up. A year I deeply understood that I might make plans for my life but God is the Master Planner. A year I deeply understood that God is my true source. A year where I began the understand the word 'patience'. A year I understood the import of love. A year I could clearly see what a second chance meant.
2014 is here and I'm glad I'm alive to witness the very first day. I'm grateful for the gift my life, family and friends. I'm grateful for the understanding that I have; getting to 2014 was not my own doing. I'm grateful for the fresh grace and mercy available to take me through this new year.
It's a fresh slate for me. A new beginning! I'm excitedly looking forward to what God has in store for me in 2014 and I praise Him in advance!
Happy New Year everyone and I pray your fresh slates would be used wisely. God bless!
