4) Pumpkin
With this guy, I am made to believe that the world is a small
place. I met this young man again after a decade. Funny enough a decade before,
I didn't think we even ever said hello to each other. We met again at a place I
would have least expected. My first impression when I saw him alight from the
car was how much nicer he was looking. I was so stunned that I mumbled my hello;
till date he thinks I just gave him a cold shoulder. He seemed like he was in a
hurry and just gave me his complementary card. It took me about 2 weeks before
I had enough 'liver' to give him a call. I called and he didn't pick up *I
was glad he didn't* so I sent an SMS. Later that day, he returned my call and I
was really formal. He was wondering if I was always like that and I said yes.
We exchanged SMSs like once in a week with the conversations being initially
awkward until we exchanged BBM pins *thank you RIM*. The exchange of pins began
a 'well of friendship'. This young
man I have found to be very sensitive and adorable. He sure knows how to treat
a lady right. He is a young man that constantly has surprises up his sleeves.
He claims to be a boring person but I beg to decline. He is charming and I
call him pumpkin...lol. The very first time he surprised me was some time back
when I was out with people. We were chatting while I was on the way to a
location with my people and he kept asking if we had gotten there and if I was
having fun. Unknown to me, he was planning his entrance...lol. He called me
about an hour after I got to the location and said he was outside. I initially
thought he was joking until he described where he was. I came out but couldn't
see him anywhere; while I was still trying to figure out where he was *all the
while he was talking to me on the phone* he surprised me from behind. It was a
very thrilling moment. I can still visualise that incident...lol. It was fun to
have him come around and the most amazing surprise was his guitar! He actually played
and sang for me..*yipee!* He sure does understand the fact that it is the tiny
things that matter. On another occasion, he had chatted with me earlier and
asked for my plans for the day. I told him I was home all day doing regular
stuff. He said ok, I should try to have fun. In the evening, he called and he
said he was in front of my house. I laughed asking him to tell me what he saw
and alas, he was indeed in front of my house. I was dazed! He left work earlier
than he usually does just to surprise me. It was really something. Yep! He's amazing
like that. We converse on a regular and he is an amazing friend even though
network sometimes 'beefs' us..lol.
